Oh What A Night!

Friday 28th June was the College of Dance’s Graduation celebration evening, and what a fantastic night it was. This incredibly special evening is when the College celebrates our hugely talented group of students through a showcase of original choreographed dances, spectacular solos and breathtaking vocal performances. At this incredibly intimate evening it was a joy to welcome the students’ friends and family as we collectively celebrated their achievements.

Hosted by the College’s Artistic Directors, Samantha Lyons and Bernadette O’Rouke, the evening’s showcase included contemporary, ballet, jazz, tap and musical theatre songs. The proceedings started with an opening speech by Bernadette O’Rouke where she set out the goals and mission of the College of Dance. There were also an array of solos & duets sung by the students, plus original works choreographed by the students. Each student shone and it was a joy to witness their creativity. There were guest speeches from Cormac Healy, Centre Manager for St. Catherine’s Sports Centre and Matthew Duffy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the College of Dance. The College would like to thank them both, and the other Directors for all they do for the College.

FUTURE SUCCESS

After the fantastic performance showcase the evening moved onto the formal graduation ceremony. This portion of the evening opened with a speech from Samantha Lyons, one of the College’s Artistic Directors, where she thanked all of those who work so hard to make the College of Dance Ireland’s premier center of excellence for dance training. Each of the graduating students then received their graduation certificates, with huge smiles all round and a lovely warm reception from all those attending the event. The graduating students then closed off the event with a heartfelt speech of thanks.

The College of Dance wishes each and every graduating student the very best of luck with the continuation on their journey in dance and performing arts. We would like to remind all our graduating students that the College of Dance is always open to welcome each and every one of them, so please drop in to say hello if you are passing at any time
