INTENSIVE DANCE COURSES
The College of Dance’s annul intensive dance courses offer an invaluable opportunity to train under some of the best teachers in Europe. Both our current faculty and international guest teachers put together an exciting and engaging programme. Our intensive courses are designed for younger dances, trainee professionals as well as professional dancers.
EASTER INTENSIVE 2017
Our Easter intensive course takes place on Tuesday 11th, Wednesday 12th & Thursday 13th April 2017 at the College of Dance, The College of Dance, Spin Activity Center, Finches Industrial Park, Long Mile Rd, Western Business Park, Dublin, D12 P62.
There will be daily classes in Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz. We are delighted to welcome back International Guest Teacher Andrew Wilson who will be teaching Ballet throughout the Easter Intensive. Andrew Wilson is Head of Ballet at Bird College, London.
Place on our Easter Intensive training course are limited so early booking is essential to to avoid disappointment.
THE 2018 EASTER INTENSIVE STARTS IN
Guest International Ballet Teacher
Andrew trained at both Bird College and The Royal Ballet School and won the highly coveted international ballet competition ‘The Prix de Lausanne’. Andrew’s illustrious performance career has seen him perform throughout the world and with companies such as the Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet, the Birmingham Royal Ballet and in Ireland with the Dublin Grand Opera Society.
Andrew has also performed in The Royal Variety Performance, The Childrens’ Royal Variety Performance and with artists such as Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan and Status Quo.
Andrew became the Head Of Boys Ballet at Elmhurst, and moved onto join Bird College in 2000 as teacher of classical ballet. In 2006 Andrew became Head of Ballet at Bird College. Andrew brings this wealth of experience to his teaching.
All students, both at junior and senior level, must have previous ballet experience. We advise that this should be a least RAD Inter-Foundation / Grade 6 or ISTD Intertermediate / Grade 5 or equivalent.
For contemporary and jazz classes, experience is helpful but not essential.
The junior program is designed for dancers aged 10 to 15 years, but this is relative to experience. The junior programme runs from 10.00am to 3.00pm daily.
The senior program is designed for dancers from 12 years plus with relevant experience. This programme runs 12.30pm to 5.30pm daily.

The fees are broken down as follows:
- 3 Day Course (2hrs of Ballet, 1hr of Jazz & 1hr of Contemporary per day) €150
- 2 Day Course (2hrs of Ballet, 1hr of Jazz & 1hr of Contemporary per day) €110
- 1 Day Course (2hrs of Ballet, 1hr of Jazz & 1hr of Contemporary) €60
- 2 Hour Ballet Class* €30
- 1 Hour Contemporary Class (Samantha Lyons) €15
- 1 Hour Jazz Class (Bernadette O’Rouke) €15
Priority will be given to applicants registering for the 3 day course. All bookings are on a first come first reserved basis. No booking will be reserved without a deposit. The deposit for the 3 days course is €100, for all other booking the deposit is 50% of the total booking costs.
Payments can be made in cash, cheque made should be made payable to the College of Dance or by bank transfer. If paying by bank transfer please contact the College for details.
